Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
uSage ("we", "us") provides this policy to explain what information the uSage app and service collect, how it is used, and your choices about it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and password, used only for authentication. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
- Content you add: EPUB books you upload, highlights, notes, vocabulary entries and reading progress.
- Text you submit for translation or word lookup, which is sent to our AI provider (Groq) solely to generate the translation or definition you requested.
- If you join the early-access list on this website, the email address you enter, stored with our email provider (Brevo) so we can tell you when the app launches.
How we use this information
Solely to provide the app's own features: storing your library, tracking reading progress and streaks, generating translations and definitions, and syncing your data across your devices.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with any third party except the AI provider above, and only for the specific request you made. uSage contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS between the app and our servers.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, uploaded books, highlights, vocabulary, reading history and any offline data stored on your device. You can also request deletion by writing to hello@u-sage.com. See the account deletion page for details.
Children
uSage is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
